Membership Fee Review Reflects 13-Year Freeze
For the first time in 13 years, Holstein Australia is adjusting its membership fees, effective 1 July 2025. The last increase occurred in July 2012 - since then, the cost of living has risen significantly while membership fees have remained unchanged.
Interim CEO John Crowther says the decision to increase fees has not been taken lightly but reflects the need to maintain the level of service and support Holstein Australia provides to its members.
“Since our last membership fee change in 2012, the average cost of a pub meal for four has almost doubled, the price of a new tractor has increased by more than 70%, and the costs of doing business have increased substantially,” said Mr Crowther.
“We’ve worked hard to hold our fees steady for over a decade, but with rising operational costs, this modest adjustment is necessary to ensure we can continue delivering value to our members and supporting the Holstein breed.”
From 1 July, the Full Membership fee will increase from $198 (inc GST) to $220 (inc GST) per year, with similarly modest adjustments to other membership categories, including Associate and Youth memberships. Junior memberships will remain free.
“Our mission is to support our members in building strong, productive herds and a successful dairy industry. This small step helps secure that mission for the future,” Mr Crowther added.
