As part of the Fee review undertaken by the Board last year it was decided to introduce Scaled Fees on 1st July 2018 to reflect the age of the animal at the time of registration application.
At the time the Board sought and received feedback from members on the introduction of Scaled Fees and subsequently made the decision to defer their introduction until 1st July 2019.
Recently the Board has reconfirmed their intention to implement Scaled Fees commencing July 2019, as previously notified to members.
Scaled fees based on age are not a new concept for Australia and are common throughout the Holstein world, including in the USA, Canada and UK. They provide an incentive to register at a younger age, helping to maintain the integrity of the pedigree and accuracy of the herd book database. The earlier an animal is registered, the more accurate the information, the less likely the risk of error.
Currently around 50% of animals we register are over 12 months of age and many are over 24 months of age.
The new Fee schedule, inclusive of GST, is as follows:
Scaled Fee per animal
0 - 12 months
+12 months to 24 months
Base fee plus $11.00
Over 24 months
Base fee plus $22.00
Base fee refers to the fee for method of registration (Web rate, EzeGene, telephone or paper).
Please note that flexible payment plans can be put in place for members who contact us directly prior to 30th June. If you have a number of animals to register or plan to catch up on registrations make sure to contact the office on (03) 9835 7600.
Members with animals currently close to or over 12 months of age are advised to make registration application prior to 30th June 2019 to ensure your registrations are up to date prior to this change coming into effect.
