Holstein Australia CEO Graeme Gillan says: “We attracted a really diverse range of high quality animals from breeders with a long and successful track record for this sale, which resulted in a lot of bidding and a successful sale for those members that too part.
“While we’ve got some ideas on how we can improve the format, I think this is an exercise we will repeat sooner rather than later. For our members it represents a sales platform backed by the resources of Holstein Australia. For purchasers, there is an assurance that only the best premium Registered Holsteins will be on offer,” says Graeme.
Over $6,000 was raised for Holstein Australia’s dairy youth programs prior to the sale with an online auction of embryos, semen lots and an ET flush donated by Australian genetics companies.
The sale was conducted by Dairy Livestock Services using the Elite Livestock Auctions online system.
