Since the announcement that new service fees will come into effect on July 1 Sub-Branch representatives and members have been in consultation with management and the Board.
Following those discussions the Board of Holstein Australia has decided to defer the introduction of scaled fees based on the age of the animal at the time of registration until July 2019, originally planned for next month.
Holstein Australia CEO, Graeme Gillan, says: “While certainly not a new concept, and common throughout the Holstein world, after listening to member concerns the Board felt that introducing such a fundamental change with only two month’s notice could place an undue financial burden on members.
“Deferring the scaled fee introduction until July 2019 will give all members the opportunity to catch up on registrations without incurring additional fees for animals over 12 and 24 months of age.”
All other service fee changes, including to the registration and classification base cost and package membership will be introduced as planned from 1 July 2018.
