Holstein Youth Project Photo Competition 2010

This a chance for Holstein Youth members to win some great cash prizes and have winning photos published in the Holstein Journal and on the Holstein Australia website.
This competition is aimed at encouraging Youth to develop their Dairy Cattle photography skills and give placegetters recognition and exposure for their outstanding photography

Entries are now open for Project photo until 30th June 2010 so start snapping and get your entries in!!

CATEGORY 1: COW PHOTO
An entry in the Cow Photo must be a set-up shot of a HOLSTEIN and will be judged on such things as the cow’s balance, the sharpness of the image, the background, colour quality and overall appearance. Photos in this category aren’t based on the quality of the animal, so clipping, washing and blow-drying, for instance, aren’t necessary. Each shot must be uniquely set up by each entrant.

CATEGORY 2: CREATIVE PHOTO
Creative Photo category is designed to let your imagination run free, but it must include at least one Holstein animal. The main factor taken into consideration for judging will be innovation and originality, but the essentials, such as image clarity, focus and composition must also be present. Each shot must be uniquely set up by each entrant.

AGE GROUPS
1. Senior – aged over 16 years
2. Junior – aged under 16 years

PRIZES
A winner, second and third place for each of the two categories in both Senior and Junior age groups will be chosen. Prizes will include:

SENIOR
Category 1: Cow Photo
First – Digital camera
Second – $50 cash
Third – $25 cash

Category 2: Creative Photo
First – $100 cash
Second – $50 cash
Third – $25 cash

JUNIOR
Category 1: Cow Photo
First – $100 cash
Second – $50 cash
Third – $25 cash

Category 2: Creative Photo
First – $100 cash
Second – $50 cash
Third – $25 cash

All winners will also receive a framed certificate

1. There are to be no more than 2 entries per person, per category.
2. NO DIGITAL ENHANCEMENTS ARE TO TAKE PLACE ON ANY ENTERED PHOTO OR THESE PRINTS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE COMPETITION.
3. Photos must be taken within 12 months prior to closing date of competition. Entries must also include the date photo was taken.
