Western Australian Holstein Breeders Ray Blackburn of Burnvale Holsteins and Ted and Andrew Bett of Wellstrand Holsteins staged their inaugural Western Stars Sale at Camperdown, Victoria Showgrounds.

Top selling lot was lot 1, Wellstrand Faber Rose, a Red Holstein due June to Advent and backed by 6 generations of EX & VG dams, she sold to R Towner of Bookaar. Next top selling lot from Wellstrand at $8500 was Lancelot Pauline 3 from a Donor dam with ASI of 146 selling at $8500. Their top selling unjoined heifer at $7300 was Wellstrand Goldwyn Lulu bred down from the Hanover Hill Lulus selling to Gippag Pty Ltd of Maffra while the well known Glenlochland herd of C & G Van Leerdum paid $6600 for Wellstrand Bradley Pauline 2 backed by 6 generations of VG high production dams.

Top lot from Burnvale was Toystory Connie at $7250, this daughter of Ponderosa Storm Connie 2 EX was purchased by the well known Elmar herd of S & D Hore of Leitchville. Their next best lot at $6200 was Burnvale Lheros Midge 4 selling to Hallyburton Farms of Cobden. These vendors also sold a package of 5 Goldwyn embryos from Glenalbas Allen Katherine (ET) at $1575 each to Eclipse Holsteins.

Guest Vendors K & W Armstrong who run their Holsteins at Wellstrand sold a select line of unjoined heifers including Willows Dolman Papoose backed by 6 generations of EX back to Hanover Hill, she sold for $8600 to Hallyburton Farms. The Whatman family of Cobram paid $6100 for the Willows Finalist Sabrina backed by several generations of EX & VG’s of Willerink Canadian breeding.
