A huge crowd of interested Holstein enthusiasts attended the complete
dispersal sale of Page House Holsteins held at the Camperdown Selling Centre.
Creating much interest prior to the sale was Page House Shottle Noni, this
August calved heifer had recently classified VG85 and had also just won the
Western District on Farm Challenge 2yo class. Bred from one of Australia’s
highest ASI families, she boasted huge earning potential and was finally
knocked down to the well known Hill Valley Holstein herd of Roger and Helen
Perrett of Kongwak at $33,000. Her two month old heifer sold at $9000 to
Peter Rough of Kenilworth QLD. While her dam Page House Morty Noni VG87,
sold due to Mr Sam for $10,000 to Bluechip Holsteins of Zeerust. Second top
price of the sale was the much admired Wandilla Allen Beauty 23 VG89, at
$15,000 selling to Hallyburton Farms of Cobden; this 6yo is backed by the
renowned Canadian Startmore Gail family. These same buyers also selected
the smart heifer Page House Igniter Connie, backed by 5 VG dams from the
noted Ponderosa Connie family at $6,000 and Hill Valley Gold Shandrea VG88,
at $8,000.
The top selling joined heifer at $14,100 was the imported ET heifer Serendipity
Goldwyn Petrelle, backed by the Canadian Karona Bonair family; she was
purchased by T & K Gilmore of Ingolmore Holsteins. The next best at $14,000
was Page House Laurie Allen (IMP ET) bred from the Comestar Laurie Sheik
family, selling to S & V Patten of Maffra and Craig Rapley of New Zealand.
The top selling embryo package, at $16,000 were the Pronto’s from Penn Gate
Storm Fairy (IMP USA). They were selected by Leader Holsteins of Oakey QLD.
The top selling semen at $550 per straw was Regancrest Emory Derry. Buyers
came from QLD, SA, New Zealand and all parts of Victoria. Selling agents Dairy
Livestock Services report the following details:
50 Cows averaged $3737.00
16 Joined Heifers averaged $3781.00
11 Unjoined Heifers averaged $1645.00
14 ’08 Calves averaged $1857.00
91 Holsteins averaged $3203.00
14 Embryo packages averaged $2782.00
Total sale grossed $341,385.00.
