Mike and Julie Duckett

of Duckett Holsteins (Rudolph, Wisconsin, USA)

Mike and Julie are best known for owning the much admired Harvue Roy Frosty, this year's Supreme Champion Cow at the World Dairy Expo (WDE). This year's WDE will be one to remember for them with Frosty being Grand Champion of the Holstein Show and another of their cows, Stone-Front Iron Pasta, named Reserve Champion!

They say " When developing a young cow you need to realise what your animal's faults are and her extremes. For the young cow to reach her potential you need to figure out the best housing situation and nutritional diet for her.

When you prepare cattle for shows keep them aggressive not singled out, Frosty has always been treated as a cow! Also a very important part of winning shows is the show ring presence.

The best cows always lead perfect and have a beautiful hair coat. Washing and brushing regularly will also make your cow demand attention. Last of all, hard work is the key. Many days for us start at 4am and are over at 10pm!"
