Finley High School Dairy Heifer Program

“Finley High School has developed a unique educational program for secondary students at the school. In the program participating students learn about the importance of caring for a young dairy heifer that is housed at the school grounds in addition to managing their normal day to day school curriculum.

The program encourages students to work as a team but more importantly provides the opportunity for students to experience firsthand what’s required when caring for a heifer, something not all country based students are able to do.

The annual program results in the Finley team heading to the Royal Melbourne Show where team members and their heifers compete for broad ribbons.

If you would like to learn more about the program contact Finley High School on 03 5883 13443 or Holstein Australia.”
