Recently members were sent Herd Inventory Listing of their current Herd. The purpose of the Inventory listing is to get an accurate measure of members current active animals. Members may mark animals as being dead or sold for slaughter through our web site. The process is similar to the online registrations, where animals are done in a batch.
A Step by Step Guide on How to Update Animal Status details.
- Log in with your Member ID and Password. If you don’t already have a Password please contact Jason Lang at Holstein Australia for a password on (03) 9835 7631 or email jlang@holstein.com.au. Please supply your Member number.
If you are not already logged in, Click Here to log in.
- Click on the “Online Registrations” link (top right). This will bring up a list of registration batches (previous registrations you have worked on or none if it’s your first time).
- Click on “Create a New Batch”. Click on "Animal Status Update"
- Click on “Create”.
- Click on the “Add” button. This is where the animal status details are entered.
Notes:
- Enter the animal Herdbook (registration) number in the second box. Please enter the disposal code and disposal date if known, if not known you may leave blank.
- If the animal is an Appendix cow or Bull you will need to click on the drop down box and change it to the appropriate selection. Also, only enter the Appendix Herdbook number (do not
enter App1, App2, etc.)
- Once you have entered the details click on the “Go” button near the bottom of the page. A check of your animal status details will then occur.
- The batch summary page will re-appear.
- If the Status of the animal has "Fatal Errors" there has been errors in the animal validation. You will need to click on the "Edit" to view details entered. The error will appear in Red, the error will need to be corrected.
- If you are unable to remove an error, even after amending information, you should delete the record entirely before completing the batch and contact Holstein Australia at a later time to arrange for the animal’s registration.
- If the Status of the animal has "Validated" the animal details have been entered correctly. From here you may add more animal status details by clicking on the "Add" button.
If you want to check on an animal which you have entered or edit the information in a record, simply click on the "Edit " on the left side of the screen to bring up the individual animal details.
- When you are satisfied that the information you have entered is correct, you can then submit the batch to Holstein Australia. Click on "Batch Submission Screen", then click on "Submit this Batch to Holstein Australia"
- Congratulations. Your animal status details have now been successfully sent to Holstein Australia. Once you have clicked on the "Submit this batch to Holstein Australia" you may leave the holstein website, even if the Status of the batch appears with "Sending".
